Google.org is offering scientists $30 million and technical support to accelerate AI-driven research.
Google.org has unveiled a new $30 million global "open-call" to fund researchers, nonprofits and social enterprises using AI in scientific discovery.
The program, the 'Google.org Impact Challenge: AI for Science', aims to inject catalytic funding and technical expertise to help organisations unlock "Nobel-level" breakthroughs. It builds upon an inaugural AI for Science fund, Google said in an announcement.
Specifically, Google is seeking projects in Health and Life Sciences, Crisis Resilience and Environmental Science.

In addition to grant funding, selected organisations will have the opportunity to participate in a Google.org Accelerator and receive engineering support, technical mentorship and Google infrastructure to scale their solutions, the tech giant said.
Applications under the program are open until 17 April.
