Humanoid robots competed in a 3-on-3 soccer match at the 2025 World Humanoid Robot Games in beijing, using AI-based tactics; the tsinghua university team defeated the mountain sea team from china agricultural university 5–3 in the final.

AI robots this weekend made a foray into the 'Beautiful game' in Beijing, during the 2025 World Humanoid Robot Games, with a 3-on-3 soccer match.

The match kicked off the so-called RoBoLeague, and it saw humanoid robots operate to play the game without any human input - instead, they used visual sensors to detect the ball, and the in-game tactics were AI-based strategies.

Tsinghua University’s THU Robotics team won the final 5–3 against the Mountain Sea team from China Agricultural University.

The humanoid robots were built by Booster Robotics.
