The tech giant faces potential leadership churn as Mike Rockwell has considered reducing his role amid the Siri overhaul, Bloomberg reported.
Apple is confronting possible turnover as Mike Rockwell, who led development of Vision Pro and now oversees the Siri revamp, has weighed leaving the company or moving into an advisory role, Bloomberg reported.
The move follows a broader leadership reshuffle after Tim Cook lost confidence in the company’s AI efforts under former AI chief John Giannandrea, with software chief Craig Federighi now overseeing Apple’s AI work and the Siri project.
Bloomberg quoted sources saying, "Mike Rockwell (…) has considered leaving or moving into an advisory role next year, according to people with knowledge of the matter.
He has had reservations about reporting to his new boss, software chief Craig Federighi, and desires a larger role." The report adds that Rockwell was chosen to lead the Siri overhaul because of the technical challenges he overcame bringing Vision Pro to market.

The report says Rockwell would be unlikely to leave before the Siri upgrade is complete and that he is considering changes to his position next year.
