Apple will invest tariff refund into U.S. manufacturing

Apple said it will invest the tariff refund into U.S. manufacturing. The Cupertino-based iPhone maker disclosed it received $2.19 billion in tariff refunds in the quarter and said it will channel the money into U.S. manufacturing projects.

NPR noted that redirecting the windfall into domestic capacity is effectively a benefit that many smaller companies can't afford.

The pledge echoes Apple’s broader, multi‑year commitments to American manufacturing and earlier comments that any recovered duties would be reinvested into U.S. innovation and advanced production.

The company revealed the refund as part of its latest quarterly results and said the funds will be used to expand U.S. manufacturing and related innovation efforts.
