Instagram, Facebook, and Messenger expanded a 13+ content setting to users worldwide, moving from a pilot in select markets to a global rollout.
Instagram, Facebook and Messenger are expanding a 13+ content setting for teen accounts to users around the world.
Instagram introduced the setting in the US, UK, Australia and Canada last October and made it the default for teen accounts in those markets.
The company says the setting was inspired by movie-ratings criteria and by parent feedback.
Instagram said the 13+ option is designed to help teens see age-appropriate content by default.
The rollout moves the change from a pilot to a global setting across Instagram, Facebook and Messenger.
